DK LAK DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

I. Names through the ages

 The Department of Science and Technology of Dak Lak province is the state management agency for science and technology activities. Department was established in 1978 with the original name of Science and Technology Board. Since its establishment, the Department of Science and Technology of Dak Lak province has undergone many changes in its name and functions as follows:

1978: The Science and Technology Board was established under Decision No. 327 dated June 6, 1978 of the Provincial People's Committee. Initially, the Science and Technology Board has the following tasks: To advise the Provincial People's Committee on: Orientation and tasks on long-term and immediate scientific and technical work; Directing the research and application of scientific and technical advances in service of agricultural, forestry, industrial and daily life production; Studying policies and training regimes for rational use of scientific and technical staff; Directing the planning of research and application of science and technology of districts, towns and departments in the province; Directing and organizing the building of scientific and technical management practices in the locality on three fronts: Standardization, Product Quality Inspection, Measurement Testing, etc.

In 1983, the Scientific and Technical Committee was renamed the Scientific and Technical Committee according to Decision No. 48 QD-UB dated August 8, 1983.

In 1988, the Scientific and Technical Committee was renamed the Scientific and Technical Committee according to Notice No. 06 TB/UB dated January 18, 1988.

In 1993, the Science and Technology Board was renamed the Department of Science, Technology and Environment according to Decision No. 989/QD-UB dated November 16, 1993. At this time, the Department of Science, Technology and Environment has 03 specialized departments (Science - Technology Management Department, Environmental Management Department, Organization - Administration - Finance Department) and 03 affiliated units (Department of Science and Technology). Department of Standards - Metrology - Quality, Center for Applied Science and Technology, Biological Experiment Station).

From 2003 to now, the Department of Science, Technology and Environment changed its name to Department of Science and Technology according to Decision No. 73/2003/QD-UB dated May 27, 2003 of the People's Committee of Dak Lak Province. The current function of the Department of Science and Technology is to advise and assist the Provincial People's Committee in state management of science and technology, including: scientific research activities, technological development, and innovation. create; develop scientific and technological potentials; standards, measurement, quality; Intellectual Property; radiation and radioisotope applications; radiation and nuclear safety; manage and organize the implementation of public non-business services in the fields within the scope of functions of the Department according to the provisions of law. Currently, the Department of Science and Technology has 05 specialized departments and 02 affiliated units, specifically as follows:
